Automobiles in Germany's Town Found Marked with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Police stated they were contacted by a man who found a automobile in Hanau smeared with reddish substance

Around fifty vehicles have been marked with what appears to be human blood in the German town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Automobiles, building surfaces and mailboxes were defaced, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they reported in a official communication.

Officers state they were contacted during the night on Wednesday night, when a resident observed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued liquid.

The fluid had been placed in the form of a banned symbol, they added.

Law enforcement then located many other vandalized cars and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are illegal in Germany under regulations prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Officials say early analysis indicate the liquid was likely human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no indication as to its source; investigators are presently not informed of any harm in association with the incident," they stated.

Local authorities announced they were working "to unravel the case" and have requested to the community for details.

A high-ranking representative commented the incident rendered him stunned and had to be resolved rapidly.

"This incident affects the core of Hanau and revives the pain of the far-right attack half a decade ago," he wrote on social media, referring to the murder of nine individuals by a assailant focusing on people of migrant background in 2020.
